Pledges to Bring Grassroots Organizing & Activism, Innovative Learning, and Know-How to Office.

Malden, Massachusetts – Sunday, May 14, 2017 – Nichole Mossalam, who is first and foremost a proud mother of three beautiful children, has declared her candidacy to be the Ward 7 School Committee member. Currently, she serves as the Administrative Director of the Malden Islamic Center, Executive Director of the New England Islamic Speakers Bureau, and an advisory board member of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MA). She has over 11 years experience of community activism and issues advocacy.

“As the challenges to public education increase daily, we need someone who is willing to go the extra mile and advocate for our children’s future. Someone with a background and passion for issues advocacy and activism. That someone is me,” stated Nichole Mossalam on why she is the best woman for the job.

Nichole’s work has involved building bridges and forging strategic community partnerships. The fruit of this work is evidenced in her own campaign, run by a young entrepreneur and former Evangelical from the bible-belt south, Nick Lennox.

“We need to begin thinking outside the box to identify creative solutions to fill resource gaps, build a culture that values inclusivity, and provide the best learning environment for our children. Our community must pull together to provide the best future for Malden’s children today, ” Nichole Mossalam said on what she'll work towards once in office.

Jen Hendrey, an active Malden Public Schools (MPS) parent and founder of the MPS Families group, stated that "Nichole genuinely cares about all of Malden's kids. I've gotten to know her through MPS issues, parent-to-parent. We're both members of MPS Families and Community Engagement (FACE). Nichole is an active citizen and MPS mom on school topics that are important to many families, and it's great to see her step up and run for School Committee. Malden needs more School Committee members who have children in the Malden schools system. As a Malden Public Schools parent of 3 kids, I'm confident Nichole will work very hard on behalf of our students!”

Nichole is one of many young activists answering the call nationwide to fill the gaps of much-needed minority representation. While America is one of the most diverse countries in the world, and Malden even more so, our elected representatives fail to show this.

“I pledge to put Malden’s hard-working families first and I look forward to earning their vote.”
